FAQs

Materials & Sustainability:

Are CV products truly food safe?

Yes! CV silicone is food-grade quality and free of BPA, BPS, lead, latex, and other phthalates. It resists temperatures up to 428F and as low as -40F without releasing any harmful chemicals.

Is my CV silicone lid microwave safe?

Yes! CV lids can safely be used in the microwave to assist in heating and guarding against splatters.

Is my CV silicone lid actually oven and stovetop safe?

Yes! CV lids can safely be used in the oven and on the stovetop up to 428F.

CV lids are not intended for use in toaster ovens, as the lid may come into close or direct contact with the oven walls, which heat at a higher speed and temperature.

Do not allow your CV lid to come into direct contact with open flames, burners, or the inside of oven walls.

Can I reuse my CV silicone lids?

Absolutely! Unlike plastic, silicone is a durable and reusable material that will not degrade or leech harmful chemicals over time. Reuse your lids over and over while helping alleviate the environmental damage done by single-use plastic.

Where are your products made?

All CV products are designed in France by Charles Viancin. CV products are responsibly manufactured in China.

Use & Care:

How do I create an airtight seal using my CV silicone lid?

Easy! Simply place your lid atop any clean and dry, smooth-rimmed cup, bowl, pot, or pan! CV lids work on a variety of materials: glass, plastic, ceramic, stainless steel, wood, and more.

With your airtight seal, you’re now ready for food storage and preparation, reheating and steaming, and colorful entertaining!

The airtight seal is amazing! Can I carry my bowl by the CV lid handle?

We know it’s tempting, but please do not lift or carry your covered containers by the lid. Accidents happen!

Can I use my CV products outdoors?

Of course! CV products are perfect for picnics, camping, outdoor dining, and entertaining. They allow you to retain heat on warm dishes and to protect your food and beverages from insects, falling leaves, and pollen!

How do I clean my CV products?

CV silicone is dishwasher safe! Securely load your CV lid on the top or bottom rack.

You can also wash by hand using warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaning agents. Wipe dry with a soft cloth to avoid water spots.

Spatulas with wooden handles should be washed by hand with warm, soapy water.

How do I remove stubborn odors and stains from my CV lids?

Soak your lid in a 50/50 solution of warm water and vinegar for a few hours.

After washing, allow your CV lid to sit in the sunshine for a few hours. This will help naturally remove stains and odors from things like tomato sauce, onions, and garlic.
